Heads Up on Diabetes
Diabetes is relentless.
Every minute of every day, a person with diabetes faces decisions, thoughts, worries and fears about their diabetes and the future impact the condition may have on their health.
The daily burden of living with diabetes can be significant. It’s estimated that people with diabetes face up to 180 diabetes-related decisions every day. That’s more than 65,000 extra decisions a year.
Diabetes distress, anxiety and burnout are real complications of diabetes.
That’s why we’re launching Heads Up on Diabetes – a new campaign focusing on the mental and emotional health impact of living with diabetes.
This National Diabetes Week, let’s have a conversation about the real impact diabetes can have on a person’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
People living with diabetes make an extra 180 decisions every day.

Do you need support?
Living with diabetes can be really tough. It’s understandable to sometimes feel frustrated, sad, worried, down or depressed.
The important thing to know is that support is available – so reach out.
During National Diabetes Week we are offering people with diabetes the opportunity to have a confidential, informal discussion over the phone with a professionally trained psychologist.
This could be the first step to better mental or emotional health.
